Jerry Wayne Baumann, 63, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, 7900 McCart Ave., Fort Worth.

Memorials: The family requests that memorials, in lieu of flowers, be sent to one of the following: American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, Arthritis Foundation or Hillel (Jewish Organization).

Jerry Wayne Baumann was born to Rudolph and Josephine Onken Baumann in Roscoe. He graduated from Loraine High School in 1961, and attended Texas Lutheran College for one year before entering the U.S. Army. He received a medical discharge after developing stress fractures in both feet.

Jerry moved from West Texas to Fort Worth and worked for various companies prior to going to work for General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin, in the maintenance department. His job and the people he worked with were his greatest joys.

He married Ola Mae Bennett in 1971, and they were married for 24 years until she passed away in 1996. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Scottish Rite, and was a 32nd degree Mason.

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Baumann, in 1996.

Survivors: Sisters, Betty Jackson of Houston and Carolyn Walker and her husband, Charles, of Colorado City; brother, R.J. Baumann Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn.; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins; several aunts and uncles; and very dear friends, Connie Ramsey, Beverly Montgomery and Paula Hudgins.
