Mutual Ministry Committee
The Mutual Ministry Committee shall consist of at least the vice-president of the congregation, the pastor(s) and six (6) other members. The vice-president of the congregation shall serve as the chairperson of the committee.
The goals of this committee are to nurture the spiritual welfare of the pastor(s), staff members and the congregation members, individually and corporately.
The duties and responsibilities of this committee shall be to:
1. Meet at least quarterly or on notice of the chairperson.
2. Pray for the pastor(s) and other spiritual leaders.
3. Provide support for the pastor(s) and other staff members including matters such as housing, health, continuing education, pensions, salaries, communication, etc.
4. Assist the pastor(s) in counseling difficult cases and find peaceful and God-pleasing solutions to personal problems within the congregation.
5. Review, annually, performance of pastor(s) and make recommendations concerning compensation and benefits to the Congregation Council for inclusion in the annual congregational budget after consultation with the Finance Committee.
6. Work with staff individually and in groups.
7. Listen to concerns of congregation members regarding leadership and performance of the staff.
8. Serve as agents of reconciliation in a time of conflict in the congregation.
